Position Summary: As the Culinary Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our residents' lives by leading the culinary team, overseeing meal preparation, and ensuring that our dining services meet high standards of taste, nutrition, and presentation. Your culinary expertise and leadership will contribute to creating a dining experience that our residents look forward to every day.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Culinary Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and lead the culinary team, including cooks, kitchen staff, and dietary aides.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team works cohesively and efficiently.

2. Menu Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with the dietary team to plan and prepare a diverse, nutritious, and appealing menu.
  • Ensure the timely and consistent execution of menu items to meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.

3. Food Quality and Safety:

  • Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation, making adjustments as needed to maintain high culinary standards.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe kitchen environment.

4. Resident-Centered Approach:

  • Interact with residents to understand their dietary preferences, special dietary needs, and food-related concerns.
  • Accommodate residents' dietary requirements and provide exceptional dining experiences.

5. Inventory Management:

  • Manage inventory, track food supplies, and place orders to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing waste and controlling food costs.

6. Compliance with Regulations:

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards, and dietary requirements for seniors.

7. Problem Resolution:

  • Address any issues that arise in the kitchen, such as menu modifications, equipment malfunctions, and specific dietary concerns of residents.

8. Budget Management:

  • Assist in budget planning and management, including cost control and resource allocation for culinary projects and supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a chef, culinary manager, or in a related culinary leadership role.
  • Culinary training or a relevant degree in culinary arts is a plus.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, safety, and sanitation practices, especially as they relate to senior care.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and lead a culinary team.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for delivering nutritious, delicious, and well-balanced meals.
